The nightmare begins on 7 May...
Now there are tell-tale signs of stress,
appearing on my forehead!
This is dreadful.

These days the papers seem to be flushed with reports of swine flu.
With the death toll increasing and the flu spreading all over,
it dawned on me that the world is very much inter-related.
Beginning in Mexico,
the flu is now spreading over to the various states in the US,
Europe and now,
there’s also suspected cases in Asia.
Although SG’s in the clear,
I certainly do hope that the cure comes really soon...
Anyhow these reports on the news came in,
the day after the boy and I finally settled on the trip.
Ooopsy.. I hope by the time we fly,
the dust would have settled already.
On a side note,
the boy’s article got published in his industry-related e-journal.
Weeee.... congratulations!
...
now, back to the books.

After 10 days of longing, the boy is finally back home!!!!
He was away for a course in the states.
The experience this time round was far worse than
his 3 weeks long Taiwan trip in Feb.
The time difference between SG and US
was really quite taxing on us both.
Anyhow, absence makes the heart fonder
and I’m just thankful that he’s back.
If not for my papers in May,
I would’ve definitely tagged along.
Even though I wasn’t physically there,
the boy bought almost everything he could lay his hands on for me.
Though I was pleasantly surprised,
I specially told him not to spend on anything else
apart from the few that I mentioned.
On top of that,
he actually got much more things for me, than he did for himself.
For this, I am feeling rather guilty.
Thank you my love. It is so good to have u back home again.
I can’t wait for your next trip together after my papers!

Day 6,
I am finally, almost back in shape.
All the aches and pains are now gone.
Now, I just need to work on the phlegm and the throat.
This means only healthy food for the time being,
at least until I fully recover.
Gelare last Tuesday was the last time, I had something so yummy.
It was also the night when I started to fell ill...

It’s been 4 days now and I’m still weak like a kitten.
The fever is still recurring and those dreaded symptoms are still there.
It’s really getting to me that I am so weak and helpless...

The last 48 hours were tormenting.
The recurring fever and those dreaded symptoms
really took a toll on me.
It's so scary to know that I can be
so physically weak and fragile.
I can't sleep well, can't eat well,
can't do anything well.
I even had to put in extra effort just to
walk around the house.
The fever hit a high of 40 last night.
I was literally trembling the whole time,
I even had to put on extra set of clothing, just to keep warm.
On a side note, many of the loved ones were sweet to
show their concern via phone-calls and smses.
Thanks for the well-wishes sweets...
Everyone at home have been showering me
with tons of care and concern.
Granny even came over just to take care of me.
The boy had been very sweet as well.
Even though I haven't been the sweetest gf, he was still there for me.
He got me my fav tiong bahru porridge last night for dinner.
Today, he came over twice.
Even though he had been busy at work,
he took time out to get me fish soup for lunch.
Subsequently in the evening after work,
he sprang me a surprise visit and even got me antibiotics.
Thank you my love.
Now, I'm just hoping that I'll recover soon.
I haven been at the books for more than a week now.
Time is running short, and I'm really tense.
